Abbey Belgian Spiced Ale
Very dark like the color of a cola. No head to speak of and what little there was was gone in an instant.
Spice, berries and a bit of earthiness in the aroma.
The spice hits right from the start but not strong enough to be offensive. Although this beer is 6.2% the alcohol is not prevalent. Very creamy mouth feel and it ends on a nice citrus and berry note.
Not bad but Trafalgar makes better.

Abbey Belgian Spiced Ale
Virtually no head on a very dark red/black, clear beer.
The aroma is coriander, cloves, dark berries and hints of sour and earth.
Feel is round and creamy while the taste is coffee, milk chocolate, dark berries and a bright citrus. There is a light and subdued taste of cloves and coriander.
All the basic tastes of an Abbey Ale are there, but it could use a bit more intensity. A bottle fermentation would probably enhance the tastes and help to blend things a bit more smoothly.
All in all this is a pretty good beer. I'll buy it again to help get me through these cold months.
