Adnams Broadside
Thick tan head on a dark garnet coloured, slightly cloudy beer.
The aroma is of dried fruit with some earthy tones and a sharp tang. A berry sour aroma comes through strongly, quite nice and enticing.
Tastes of fruit (mostly berries) brandy, and bread with a citrus tingle in the finish. A bit of roasted coffee or bitter chocolate comes through and gets stronger as it warms.
The label says it tastes of "fruitcake" and I can see that although I found it more like a container of brandy soaked dry berries which my mother would make before adding them to the fruitcake.
This is a great beer. the tastes blend together wonderfully. A great deal of skill went into this one. The fruity start is perfectly balanced by the lovely bitter citrus hop finish.
I wish it was easier to find around here.

Clumpy tan head on a reddish brown pour.
Berry and citrus aroma.
Fruity first taste with a citrus tang. A creaminess that coats the mouth and tongue. Fruity sourness takes over as it warms but this is in a nicely blended way.
Good stuff.

Mahogany in color. Slightly cloudy with a toffee colored head.
Smells of berries.
A bitter beer which is also creamy. Quite pleasant on the palate. Subtle berry and chocolate flavor. The flavors become stronger as the beer warms.
