Augustijn Abbey Ale

Light copper coloured ale with a full, white, rocky head that leaves a lot of lace on your glass.
The aroma is cloves, ginger and vanilla, while the feel is full, rich, creamy and sparkling.
The tastes start with a dry bitterness quickly followed by vanilla and spice flavours. The taste of cloves comes through quite strongly and there is a deep earthy taste sitting right below that. In fact all the tastes build on top of the earthy, solid foundation and they all blend together nicely.

I may have to move to Belgium, I really enjoy so many of their beers, especially the Abbey style or Trappist beers.

Beer Quote of the day

I learned early to drink beer, wine and whiskey. And I think I was about 5 when I first chewed tobacco.
