Bah Humbug! Christmas Ale

Dark copper with a very thin head.
Citrus, earth and berry aroma.
Creamy feel with a hint of citrus to start and a bitter dark chocolate middle with a drying earthy finish. A bitter cherry flavor comes through as it warms.
A nicely balanced beer that would go nice with a big bowl of chili, but not a spectacular beer by any means.
As always with Wychwood a very nice label.

Bah Humbug! Christmas Ale

A thin, off white head on a clear dark copper coloured brew.
The aroma was slightly sour with faint coffee and flowers (almost rose) hints.
Feel is rich and creamy while the tastes are of bitter chocolate, nutmeg and wild cherry with some berry, honey and a light earthy finish.
The wild cherry taste gets stronger as it warms and becomes almost overwhelming.

It's not a bad English ale, quite full flavoured and richly textured. The creamy bitter chocolate makes it head towards being a good winter beer but the wild cherry just seemed like too much for me.
That makes it good but not exceptional.
