Belhaven Scottish Stout

Very dark, almost black pour with a thick dark tan head.
Oh crap! I smell skunk.
Very slight skunk flavor but it's enough to throw me off my feed. Below all that there are hints of chocolate, coffee and citrus but I just can't get past the skunky taste. Not good. Ban all clear bottles for beer I say!

Belhaven Scottish Stout

Pours black, against a strong light some dark reds show through, the head is large, creamy, and tan coloured.
Aroma is slightly skunked. Damn it.
Hints of burned toast and bitter chocolate come through.
Feel is full, rich, and creamy.
Taste doesn't show the skunk from the aroma thank goodness. Dark chocolate and coffee with hints of caramel and bread dough. A light lemon citrus bitterness comes last and lingers nicely.
A good full flavoured stout in what I think of as a traditional style. If you like stout and can get past the skunk aroma this is pretty good, now if they would put it in a dark bottle we might have something.
