Belhaven Wee Heavy
A thick light tan coloured head on a deep red/brown coloured beer.
The aroma is scotch and brown sugar and the feel is very rich and rounded.
Tastes start with sweet and sour, scotch, and a light bitter tingle.
There is a lot of malt sweetness with berry and honey tastes. Some solid earthiness sits in the background and there is a light overlay of citrus bitterness to keep the sweet from becoming too cloying.
The flavours remind me of a scotch at first but the berry tastes come through strongly later. The citrus hops are just enough to pull it all together.
A great blend.

I will look for this one again.

Beer Quote of the day

Pure water is the best gifts a man can bring. But who am I that I should have the best of anything? Let princes revel at the pump, let peers with ponds make free, beer is good enough for me.

— Lord Neaves

(It is good enough for us as well!)
