Brasserie d'Achouffe - La Chouffe

Pours a cloudy pale yellow with a huge, rocky, and lasting white head which leaves all kinds of lacing on the glass.
Aroma of vanilla and faint cloves, hints of ginger and pepper.
Feel is full, and chewy.
Taste starts with a hit of ginger and black pepper followed by vanilla and cloves. a sparkling lightly bitter finish.
The tastes are all fairly light but all seem to fit together properly. No one flavour tries to outdo the other but a lingering black pepper taste becomes memorable just because it lingers for a long while.
This one is so mild you get get yourself in trouble with the high alcohol content before you know it.

Brasserie d'Achouffe - La Chouffe

Cloudy light amber pour with a thick clumpy, long lasting head. Lots of sediment floating around.
Earthy aroma. Smells like a freshly plowed field and new mown hay.
Medium to watery mouth feel.
I'm not happy. It tastes like Stella. Just one step up from a Euro Lager. I don't even have the satisfaction of tasting the alcohol. Did I get a bad bottle. Would someone out there please tell me I got a bad one!
It does have a pretty label and cap.

Either you got a bad bottle or, more likely, your taster was out of whack. This is nothing like a Euro-lager. Not like any sort of lager. All kinds of light flavours in here and all very good. Try it again before you drink a quart or two of vodka!!
