BEER is GOOD!
About CanuckHopHead
Brooklyn Lager
Marketed as a pre-prohibition beer, this is a nice malty beer. The fruity malt aroma greets you right away when opened. In the glass you experience a golden amber, slightly cloudy appearance. The carbonation is fine, the head slight and not long lasting with some lacing on the glass. This beer really feels good on the taste buds, malt at the front and sides of the tongue, then the hops down the middle leaving a nice hop after taste that lingers; slightly metallic at the end. You should experience some heavier fruit tastes and aromas such as dates, fruit cake, and raisin - but not overpowering. And yet a bit flowery.
If you are tired of the bland, watered down brew you have been drinking, this is a nice change. This beer says tradition.
Note: this beer is hard to get in Ontario. I'm drinking it right at the end of it's 'Freshness date', this may account for the cloudiness and some of the stronger tastes. I will try to find a fresh batch to see if there is a difference.
