BEER is GOOD!
About Bruce Ticknor
Brown Ale
Brown Ale.
Dark copper to red/brown.
Malt tastes are predominant, hops are subdued and balanced.
The sweet flavours from the malt are what this style is all about. Tastes to look for include nuts, caramel, toffee, chocolate, sometimes fruity flavours and often berry tastes come through.
The tastes are usually quite complex and often very subtle but this style makes a great change from the normal run of the mill lagers common today.
Alcohol content is often quite low in the 3.0% to 3.5% range but other varieties often come in closer to the 5% range. This makes these a good session beer when you want to spend an evening with a lot more flavour.
