Chapeau Kriek

A bright Rose beer with a pink head, the head is a bit thin but nice and lacy with clumps of foam floating around the chalice.
The beer is a bit cloudy but very attractive.

The aroma is heavily of wild cherry with a bit of sweetness and a down to earth honey smell.

The taste is lovely, tangy, sour, long lasting and sweet.
The cherry taste is not quite as overpowering as some other Krieks I have tried but there is more than enough to satisfy and spark a hunger or finish off a good meal.

This is a fine dessert beer, or aperitif. Try serving it in a champagne glass for that special meal.

Chapeau Kriek

Aroma is of cherries.
Cherry red in color.
Bitter cherry start and middle with a very sour cherry and citrus finish.
Quite a different beer.
Wouldn't want too many of these.

Beer Quote of the day

It is my design to die in the brew-house; let ale be placed to my mouth when I am expiring, that when the choirs of angels come, they may say, "Be God propitious to this drinker."

— Saint Columbanus

A.D. 612

Amen!
