Chimay Tripel

A very full, slightly tan coloured, long lasting head on a dark golden, slightly cloudy beer.
The aroma is of citrus, fruit, cloves and coriander while the texture is quite creamy.
Ginger, cloves, coriander and a nice bitterness come through in the taste while the finish is nicely bitter with a hint of alcohol, which you would expect from it's 8% alcohol content.
As an aftertaste you get sweetness, flowers, and citrus and quite a nice bitter bite.
This is a finely balanced and excellent beer. I will buy it again often.

Birrificio Del Ducato - New Morning (Nuova Mattina)

Pours slightly cloudy golden/orange with a large, rocky, white head.
Aroma is quite tart, orange peel and lemon with a hint of earthiness.
Feel is quite full and rich, nice and creamy.
Taste is quite tart and refreshing off the top, orange and lemon comes through nicely with a strong earthiness toward the middle. Hints of caramel and some kind of spice that I can't quite put my finger on.
The finish lingers nicely with the whole combination of flavours. The citrus and spice seem to last longest but they all blend together so well that it is hard to say which predominates. Right at the end I get a touch of raspberry coming through from somewhere and it just seems to add to it all.
I am really enjoying this one, it is very complex and very refreshing. I'd love to try a few of these on a patio with a plate of seafood. Shrimp and Crabs Legs come to my mind immediately.

Think I better try to pick up some more of this.
