Church-Key Northumberland Ale
Pours a burnished copper color with a short lived clumpy head.
Aroma is very faint and almost flowery. Hard to pin down but as it warms a bit of dough and some honey come to the front.
Medium mouth feel with just the right amount of creaminess.
Quite sweet when I took my first sip but it was quite cold. Maybe too cold. As it warmed up a bit the citrus hit came through balancing off the sweetness. I read a few reviews before I tasted this and I don't agree with most of them. This is a well balanced ale with complexity in the flavor that makes it quite enjoyable. I think I'll have another.

Church-Key Northumberland Ale
Pours with a thick white head, fairly short lived.
The beer is a clear amber colour.
Aroma is fairly faint, the malt sweetness comes though along with a flour and earth smell.
Feel is nicely full and creamy and the taste is mostly toward the malt side. Lots of sweet bready tastes and a hint of sourdough with a nice earthy hop note. A light citrus hoppiness comes through in the finish.
This beer would be a great session beer. The malty character predominates with enough hops in the finish to keep the overall taste light and refreshing.
Very nice beer.
It was a long drive to get this brew, I'm glad to say that it was worth it.
