Malty, aromatic beers. Belgian ales rank high on my list.

Dieu du Ciel - Rigor Mortis
Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Some carbonation bubbles in this cloudy brew.
Nice aroma. Some chocolate notes with berries and citrus there as well.
Medium mouth feel. Not at all what I expected.
Alcohol right up front but some really nice complexity once I got past that. Berries, citrus and some coffee and chocolate. Unfortunately the high abv spoils this one for me. Far too much alcohol taste which doesn't let the flavors come through as they should.

Dieu du Ciel - Rigor Mortis
Wonderful Beer!!
Pours slightly cloudy, very dark brown with a huge creamy head which lasts well.
Aroma of toasted grain and citrus, slight dark berry aromas come through.
Feel is very rich and creamy, chewy and full with a bright carbonation sparkle, leaves a sugary feel on the lips.
Taste is very full, and complex, just what an Abbey Ale should be.
Lots of raisin, cherry and dark berry taste with hints of coffee, chocolate, and whole grain toast. A bright berry citrus kicks in and cleans up the sweet flavours and the long lasting finish has a bright clean taste on top of lot's of sweet malt with a light alcohol burn.
Very nice beer, I wish I had picked up a lot of these last summer, I'm afraid it will be a while until I can get more.
