Dieu du Ciel - Route des Épices

Pours a lightly cloudy dark copper colour with a full creamy light tan coloured head which leaves a nice lace.
Aroma is faint, some rye bread notes and a hint of coffee or chocolate.
Feel is rich, creamy and with a bite.
Taste starts with toasted rye bread and dough, some light chocolate and raisin with just a hint of flowery, citrus hops.
The rye bread tastes linger but a strong black pepper tingle (light burn) hits your tongue and lasts a long while.
I am really enjoying this one, a different combination of tastes but they are all well blended and suit each other well.
Don't think I'd recommend this with hot chicken wings though.

Beer Quote of the day

In my opinion, most of the great men of the past were only there for the beer - the wealth, prestige and grandeur that went with the power.

— A. J. P. Taylor

(Drink enough beer and you think you have wealth, prestige and grandeur. Mostly the grandeur, or delusions there of!)
