Erdinger Weissbier

This one sure looks good. A bright and huge white head which slowly settles to a thick white cap on a cloudy yellow coloured beer.
It looks like it should be very full and rich.
The aroma tends to support the appearance, there is citrus, banana, and grass or hay in there. It is fairly subdued though and that worries me a bit.
The feel is very rich, round and creamy. The cloudiness suggests that it should have a full feel and it does.
The tastes are a little disappointing, however. I expected the wheat beer tastes to be a lot more prominent than they are. They are all there but very subdued. I changed my mind a bit as I had a bit more of this one. The subdued tastes are never strong but always just THERE. I could drink a lot of this one just because it is a quiet version of a good weissbier.
There is a light wheat taste, a light banana flavour, some very faint cloves and a touch of dough. The finish has a light citrus sparkle to it which is nice and refreshing without screaming in your face.

As I said, I could drink a bunch of these and I think I will go pour another right now.

Christoffel Dry Hopped Nobel

Very cloudy pale orange color with a thick white clumpy head that lasts and lasts.
Aroma is citrus, some berries and earth with a bit of sourness.
Very rich creamy mouth feel.
Instant grapefruit hit followed by some earthiness and a hint of banana and some orange pith bitterness. As it warms it gains in complexity. The grapefruit is still there but now I'm getting some more earth and a kind of clover honey aftertaste. The finish is a definite hop dryness that just begs for more.
Excellent brew this.

Beer Quote of the day

Under the pressure of the cares and sorrows of our mortal condition, men have at all times, and in all countries, called in some physical aid to their moral consolations - wine, beer, opium, brandy, or tobacco.

— Edmund Burke

(Ah! A smoke and a beer. Pure heaven.)
