Extra Special Bitter (ESB).
This is an aggressive version of a Bitter or Pale Ale.
As with Bitter the colour ranges from pale golden to copper.
The tastes will be much like a bitter but usually with a larger bitter hop flavour and a higher alcohol content, usually between 4.0% and 6.5% ABV.
Since it is based on a bitter you can expect flavours of earthiness, fruit and occasionally some butterscotch with subtle tastes below the lively hop bitterness.
