BEER is GOOD!

Grand River Brewing Russian Gun Imperial Stout
Grand River Brewing Russian Gun Imperial Stout
Here in Ontario we need more Imperial Stouts!
Pours a dark creamy almost black colour with a thick tan coloured head. The head dissipates quickly but leaves a nice lace on the side of the glass and a thin cap on the beer.
The aroma is roasted malts, the characteristic bitter chocolate and coffee aromas.
Feel is hugely creamy, full and rich.
Tastes are lovely, roasted coffee, bitter chocolate, raisins and dates with a lovely light citrus finish to refresh the palate.
The alcohol is noticeable but only if you look for it, and the whole blend is superb.
It is the middle of summer when I am tasting this and it is great, I can only wait to winter to try this beer in the conditions which will make it most appreciated.
A great beer for beef stews and roasts. I think I will try to stock up a bit for next winter.

Grand River Brewing Russian Gun Imperial Stout
Pours so dark that I can't see through the glass even when I hold it up to the light.
Aromas are coffee and dark chocolate.
Full rich creamy mouth feel.
Chocolate and bitter coffee are the first tastes with some fruitiness in the middle with a nice hop tingle to finish.
Well balanced this brew. Well done Robert and Bob.
