Harviestoun Bitter and Twisted Blond Beer

A thick, white and long lasting head on a dark yellow coloured clear beer.
The aroma is heavily towards citrus.
Feel is lightly creamy and pleasant.
Tastes start with a grapefruit and lemon citrus flavour laying on top of a nice sweet malt layer like syrup or light brown sugar.
The finish is a great blend of the bitter citrus and sweet sugar tastes and lingers in a pleasant mixture on the tongue for a long while.
Either the citrus or the sweet flavours alone would be very overwhelming but this beer manages to blend the two flavours evenly.
In some ways it reminds me of grapefruit with corn syrup for breakfast, but there is a definite lemon presence there as well.

I will drink this any time I can find it.

Harviestoun Bitter and Twisted Blond Beer

Clumpy white head on a golden beer with strong lace.
Citrus and spice are the predominant aromas.
Pleasant creamy mouth feel.
Grapefruit and other citrus are the first to hit the taste buds.
Slight sweetness in the middle but it definitely finishes on a citrus note. It is a great brew. I could drink a few more of these for sure, but I have to save them for "I will drink this any time I can find it.", Nemsis.

Harviestoun Bitter and Twisted Blond Beer

A fairly thick white head. The beer is yellow and a bit cloudy.
It smells faintly of grapefruit.
The taste starts sweet and ends with a bitterness like a grapefruit.
It is really nice on a warm day. Very refreshing and has a lot more taste than most Canadian beers.

I agree with your review, mostly. This beer is mostly about the hop bitterness. It's a great BBQ beer. Only my opinion you understand.

Beer Quote of the day

I recommend… bread, meat, vegetables and beer.

— Sophocles' philosophy of a moderate diet

(I don't care about "moderate", just give me more beer.)
