Malty, aromatic beers. Belgian ales rank high on my list.

Pours a nice golden color with a thin head but lots of lace.
Aroma is berries. Blueberries, blackberries and possibly cherry. I love the aroma. I hope this isn't a prelude to a disappointment.
Well the aroma fooled me, but in a nice way. Citrus hops at the front, with the fruit flavor right behind and a sharp hop finish. This is amazing. I found a beer that reminds me of a vodka drink I was addicted to years ago. It's called a lemon drop. A shot of vodka followed by a slice of lemon that had been dipped in sugar. Pour back the vodka and suck on the sugar coated lemon wedge.
I'm going back for more before they run out again.

Heritage Brewing - Passion Brew
Well, I don't do Valentines day (Been happily divorced for years) but I heard about this one a couple years ago and happened to see it at my local L.C.B.O. so I had to give it a try.
It pours clear pale amber with virtually no head.
Aroma is mostly sour malt. I was surprised, I expected a lot of fruit aroma.
There is some fruit flavour in the taste and it probably is passionfruit, but it is hard to tell for sure. There is a sour malt taste and a light bitter hop finish.
All in all this is not too bad at all, much better than I was expecting.
A fruity ale taste which is fairly well balanced and not at all over the top. I think it is one of the better fruit ales that I have tried, the balance and blend seem to work well.
Don't be expecting a fruit Lambic or something because that is not what this beer is but it is a good example of a flavoured ale.
