Hobgoblin Ale

Dark copper/red with a big light tan coloured head.
Smell is faint, some sweet smells and a hint of spice.
Taste is quite full, a sweet flavour with spicy bitterness, finishes very clean and a bit dry.
The sweet is similar to syrup but not too strong and the bitterness might be flowery or woodsy, not sure which.
It goes down really easy and makes me want more, especially because of the dryness that it ends with.

Hobgoblin Ale

A slightly bitter brown ale with toasted caramel undertones. Fruity in the middle, with a light licorice finish. Refreshing, slightly sweet taste, slightly bitter aftertaste. Very attractive bottle with raised glass hobgoblin and lettering.

Hobgoblin
A thick lasting, light tan coloured head on a dark garnet red beer.
There is a pronounced aroma, fruity and earthy, and a very full rich creamy feel.
Tastes are of coffee or bitter chocolate, lots of dark berry flavours, a light bitterness along the sides of the tongue and hints of honey with more berry in the aftertaste.

The coffee/chocolate are predominant along with a rich berry taste. The light earthy bitterness sets the whole blend off and counters what could easily have been too sweet.

I really enjoyed this one.

Whoever serves beer or wine watered down, he himself deserves in them to drown.
