Holsten Maibock

A medium thick, white and short lived head, an amber or dark yellow coloured beer.
The aroma was quite lively with citrus, grass, and a hint of alcohol.

A rich thick mouthfeel leads into tastes of berries, grass, some honey and a hint of chocolate with a dry bitterness at the back of the tongue. Some taste of alcohol is present.

A very nice mixture of tastes, a solid sweet and fruity malt base with just enough dry hops to compliment the flavours. The touch of alcohol lets you know you are drinking serious beer.

Hitachino Nest White Ale A pale yellow color with a clumpy but short lived head. Spices and banana are all I can detect in the aroma. Full rich creamy mouth feel. This is nice. Lots of spice and banana with some hints of pepper. Easy drinking but also very flavorfull. I wish I had more but alas that is not to be with Japan still in shambles.

Beer Quote of the day

Under the pressure of the cares and sorrows of our mortal condition, men have at all times, and in all countries, called in some physical aid to their moral consolations - wine, beer, opium, brandy, or tobacco.

— Edmund Burke

(Ah! A smoke and a beer. Pure heaven.)
