Innis and Gunn Oak Aged Beer

A thick Rocky white head on a clear dark amber beer.
The aroma is sweet and sour with a caramel overlay. There are lot's of malt aroma with hints of grass and flowers. I found faint traces of sulphur in the background.

Caramel, chocolate and some citrus and grass come through in the taste. The caramel is quite pronounced and can come close to being overwhelming.
Some gentle scotch like flavours come through along with a touch of bitterness to help balance the sweet tastes of the caramel.
The feel of this beer is very rich and creamy, it fills your mouth like a creamy bite of caramel candy does.

All in all this is a very nice blend of tastes. I find it a bit too sweet for casual drinking and prefer it as more of a desert beer.

Beer Quote of the day

Whoever serves beer or wine watered down, he himself deserves in them to drown.

— Medieval plea for pure libations
