BEER is GOOD!

innis & Gunn Blonde (Lightly Oaked Beer)
innis & Gunn Blonde (Lightly Oaked Beer)
A fairly thin and short lived white head on a dark amber and slightly cloudy beer.
The aroma is, I'm afraid, skunked. Always a risk with clear bottles.
I don't know how much I can get out of this one but we'll give it a shot and try to see what it SHOULD be.
The feel is fairly rich and creamy, a sparkling tingle is definitely present.
The tastes have some vanilla and grapefruit citrus, a honey base is there as well. It is hard to get by the skunkiness and I can't blame Innis & Gunn for the poor handling of the beer. I DO blame them for using a clear bottle, however, The damned marketing department won against the taste department, again. They should know better. Ruined what seems like it might be a good beer. I find their standard "Oak Aged" to be a bit too sweet. This seems to have a better hop balance. I will be looking for an "unskunked" bottle of this to see if the hints I get are right.
