Innis & Gunn Canada day 2011

Pours dark copper with no head to speak of.
No aroma.
Pure caramel. I would have welcomed even a touch of alcohol to give this some flavor. Not a good beer.

Hitachino Nest White Ale A pale yellow color with a clumpy but short lived head. Spices and banana are all I can detect in the aroma. Full rich creamy mouth feel. This is nice. Lots of spice and banana with some hints of pepper. Easy drinking but also very flavorfull. I wish I had more but alas that is not to be with Japan still in shambles.

Beer Quote of the day

Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza.

— Dave Barry

(Course without the wheel your pizza would be cold and you would have drunk too many beer to enjoy it anyway.)
