BEER is GOOD!
About Bruce Ticknor
Jacobsen Saaz Blonde
Jacobsen Saaz Blonde
Thick, lasting, slightly off-white head on clear amber beer. A bit darker than I expected from a "blonde".
The aroma is quite spicy with cloves coriander and pepper all present, there is a bit of banana and just a hint of sourness as it warms.
Taste starts sharp and bitter quickly followed by soft banana with cloves. There are some "bubblegum" tastes with a very dry overlay and a very dry and clean finish, hints of bubblegum and honey are present in the aftertaste.
All and all this is quite a different blend of tastes and quite nice. A very sweet base with lots of spiced banana and vanilla with great dry bitterness.
I'll be looking for this one some more.

Hitachino Nest White Ale A pale yellow color with a clumpy but short lived head. Spices and banana are all I can detect in the aroma. Full rich creamy mouth feel. This is nice. Lots of spice and banana with some hints of pepper. Easy drinking but also very flavorfull. I wish I had more but alas that is not to be with Japan still in shambles.
