Kilkenny Cream Ale

I must admit that this is a gorgeous pour. The widget in the can releases enough nitrogen to create a beautiful glass of lacy bubbles moving up and down in the glass for a few minutes. It leaves a slightly off white full head on a dark chestnut coloured beer.
The aroma is fairly faint but I found some dough and grass smells in there.
The feel is a bit on the watery side but not too bad.
Tastes are mostly toward the malt side of things. A lot of dough and sweet toasted grain. A bit of light hop bitterness to finish it off and all in all it tastes fairly good. Not outstanding but not bad at all.

Hitachino Nest White Ale A pale yellow color with a clumpy but short lived head. Spices and banana are all I can detect in the aroma. Full rich creamy mouth feel. This is nice. Lots of spice and banana with some hints of pepper. Easy drinking but also very flavorfull. I wish I had more but alas that is not to be with Japan still in shambles.

Beer Quote of the day

I simply went down there to catch up with an old mate of mine, who owns the place. He's the one who wrote the book on the place, but no, no movie, just a beer.

— Bryan Brown

A great Aussie actor and beer. That says it all.
