BEER is GOOD!

Koningshoeven Tripel Trappist Ale
NOTE: In North America this beer is sold as Koningshoeven Trappist Ale while in Europe it is sold as La Trappe Trappist Ales.
A very thick, rocky, slightly off white head which lasts throughout the beer and leaves a great lacing down the sides of your glass. I used a chalice for this one, I think it improves the aroma a bit and it certainly looks good.
The ale has an almost rose colour to it, very attractive.
The aroma is slightly earthy and orangey, and the feel is very creamy, full and rounded.
On the first sip there were tastes of honey, earth, bitter orange and some spices (cloves and coriander with the cloves predominating).
With the second sip there were a lot of bright fruity berry tastes with sweet cherries showing up nicely. The cloves became more prominent. There is a hint of an alcohol feel in the finish.
The cherry tastes also lingered well into the finish.
Overall this is a wonderful beer. Very light tasting for a Trappist Ale, the alcohol is noticeable but the overall taste is bright red berry and cherry.
This would go great with Brie cheese or a light seafood meal, think I will try to save one of these to try it out.
