Kronenbourg 1664

A light amber coloured beer with a full white head which slowly recedes to leave a solid cap and lots of lace.
The aroma is very faint, there is a hint of flowers, some hop aromas and a very faint hint of honey.
The taste is also fairly subtle but bolder than the aroma. There is a hint of peppery spice and a faint flowery hop taste. Another hint of banana and a solid malt base with some fresh hay tastes. Some sweet brown sugar comes through along with a faint citrus. The citrus becomes a bit more pronounced as the beer warms. As it warms I also found a touch of a sour taste and a bit of earthiness.

Not a bad blend of tastes. The sweet honey and brown sugar tastes are nicely blended and they are well balanced by the bitter, citrus, and sour hop tastes.

Hitachino Nest White Ale A pale yellow color with a clumpy but short lived head. Spices and banana are all I can detect in the aroma. Full rich creamy mouth feel. This is nice. Lots of spice and banana with some hints of pepper. Easy drinking but also very flavorfull. I wish I had more but alas that is not to be with Japan still in shambles.

Beer Quote of the day

One of the hallmarks of the baby boomer generation is that it doesn't live like the previous generation. It hasn't yet given up jeans and T-shirts or beer.

— Ron Klugman

(If you're talking about Coors, then I'm afraid you have given up beer!)
