La Trappe Tripel
In the U.S. this is sold as Koningshoeven, in Canada you might find it labeled either way.
Pours a cloudy copper colour with a full and creamy, slightly off white head.

Aroma is gingery with hints of orange, pepper and earth,
Feel is very rich and full.
Taste starts with a lot of orange, honey, earth and berry taste,  Some clove comes through along with the faintest touch of banana.
Sweet cherry flavours fill in the middle and linger with the earth and cloves to make a pleasant finish.
The high alcohol content is noticeable but not overwhelming. Very complex and quite a light flavour overall.
I watch for this all the time and grab a couple bottles whenever it appears.

Hitachino Nest White Ale A pale yellow color with a clumpy but short lived head. Spices and banana are all I can detect in the aroma. Full rich creamy mouth feel. This is nice. Lots of spice and banana with some hints of pepper. Easy drinking but also very flavorfull. I wish I had more but alas that is not to be with Japan still in shambles.

Beer Quote of the day

I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts, and beer.

— Abraham Lincoln
