Lake of Bays - Mocha Porter
Pours very dark, almost black with red tints. A medium sized tan coloured head which didn't last all that long.
The aroma when cold was very faint, just the lightest hints of coffee and berries. As the beer warmed in the glass the aromas became much more pronounced, lots of coffee and bitter chocolate came to the front.
The feel was full and rich, like a good porter should be.
Taste also improved as the beer warmed a bit. Coffee, dark chocolate and hard roasted grain up front. The grain tastes were almost, but not quite, burnt. A light lemon citrus and a pronounced earthiness finished it up.
A very pleasant, easy drinking beer. Not as much coffee and chocolate as I expected but very well rounded and a good blend of tastes. I'd drink it again anytime.

Hitachino Nest White Ale A pale yellow color with a clumpy but short lived head. Spices and banana are all I can detect in the aroma. Full rich creamy mouth feel. This is nice. Lots of spice and banana with some hints of pepper. Easy drinking but also very flavorfull. I wish I had more but alas that is not to be with Japan still in shambles.
