L'Alchimiste - Imperial Stout
Pours creamy dark red/brown, almost black with a thick but short lived milk chocolate brown head.
Aroma of roasted malts, burnt coffee and some berries.
Feel is very thick and creamy.
Taste is rich and full, black coffee, toast, roasted malts and raisins or dates.
A light citrus flavour in the finish to keep this from become cloying. The burnt and roasted grain flavours linger for a long while.
True to the style and very drinkable.
What I like best about this beer is that it gets even better as it warms a bit, all the tastes seem to blend together more and the creamy tastes come to the front. Very nice.
