Maredsous Blonde 6
Maredsous Blonde 6°
Pale amber, slightly cloudy, full white head.
Smells a bit spicy, maybe cloves.
Tastes very dry, a bit of cloves and maybe pepper. Some vanilla and banana. Some kind of sugar taste, more to it than white sugar but not as much as brown sugar.
Really nice. Beer can have all theses tastes that you sure never find in a Blue or Canadian.
Got a three pack of this with a fancy glass (a chalice I guess) at the LCBO. All the beer are different and they get stronger in alcohol. This was the weakest so I started with it. Now I can't wait to try the others.

Maredsous Blonde 6°
A slightly cloudy amber coloured ale with a huge, thick and long lasting white head.
The aroma is faintly of ginger, spices and dough.
Feel is very creamy and the tastes are relatively subtle for an Abbey Ale. There are flavours of berries, fruit, dough and a touch of coffee. A few spice tastes come through with a hint of vanilla.
The finish is lightly bitter with a taste that almost reminds me of buttered rum.
This is a good but not perfect Abbey Ale. It goes down great on a cold winter night and is better sipped and enjoyed than pounded. I found the flavours to be a little too subdued for my taste but a pleasant experience anyway.
