Maredsous Tripel

A very full and coarse head, slightly off-white.
The beer is cloudy, a orange/amber colour.
Smell is of raisins and vanilla.
Taste is wonderful, like berries in cream. Lots of raisin tastes with a touch of vanilla and maybe even a bit of cloves. It feels so full and rich and there is a light alcohol burn.
There is even a hint of cherry coming through. This beer has it all. I wish I could stock up on this, I'd drink it all the time if I could.

Maredsous Tripel 10°

A thick, rocky, slightly off-white head on a slightly cloudy, golden/amber coloured ale.
The aroma is of fruit, dark berries and alcohol with a bit of bread dough and honey.
Feel is very thick, round and creamy.
The taste is full of berries with some creamy vanilla chocolate and biscuit. Lots of alcohol comes through along with a great berry citrus finish. The finish has a great sparkle to it while the lingering taste is quite sweet and bready.
The experience of this beer is warming, all the sweet, full and somehow "homey" tastes blend to make a great winter beer with just enough brightness in the finish to sparkle and avoid being cloying.

A great Abbey Ale.

Beer Quote of the day

Why is American beer served cold? So you can tell it from urine.
