BEER is GOOD!
About Bruce Ticknor
Marstons Oyster Stout
Marstons Oyster Stout
A very full, thick. coffee and cream coloured head on a dark, rich looking black coffee coloured beer.
The aroma is very mild, earthy and a hint of mould. (Like you get from a well aged cheese).
The feel of this stout is what a stout should feel like, very thick, creamy and full.
Taste is sparkling citrus and bitter chocolate to start with an underlying earthiness and tastes of toast with hints of coffee which become more pronounced as the beer warms a bit.
The aftertaste is light, fresh and lingering. The bright hops sparkle over top of the chocolate and toast base is very nice, full yet somehow light and not overbearing.
The label says that this blend goes well with oysters. I don't have any this evening but I can see how these tastes would compliment each other. I will have to give this a try sometime.
A great brew to start my New Years Eve tastings with.

Marstons Oyster Stout
A black pour with a thin tan head that doesn't last.
Very light earthy aroma.
Full rich, creamy mouthfeel.
This is nice. Coffee, some dark chocolate and a citrus end that tingles. I wish I had stocked up on these.
