BEER is GOOD!
About Bruce Ticknor
Marstons Pedigree English Ale (bitter)
Marstons Pedigree English Ale
Thick and coarse, long lasting off white head on a beautiful clear dark copper ale.
The aroma is biscuit, fruit, grass, citrus and a hint of sour.
Feel is full, round, smooth and creamy.
Taste is quite dry and sparkling with lots of biscuity malt and a clean light bitterness. There are hints of honey and flowers with a touch of earth. I found a very faint hint of roast coffee.
Marstons makes some pretty fair beer, I have been impressed by the brews I have been able to try from them and their Pedigree is a fair example of a true British bitter.
At only 4.5% it tastes like a bigger beer. A great session brew but nothing really special about it. I'd drink it anytime and could put it away in large quantities. It beats any mainstream North American product but there are better bitters out there.

Hitachino Nest White Ale A pale yellow color with a clumpy but short lived head. Spices and banana are all I can detect in the aroma. Full rich creamy mouth feel. This is nice. Lots of spice and banana with some hints of pepper. Easy drinking but also very flavorfull. I wish I had more but alas that is not to be with Japan still in shambles.
