Pours dark red/black with a huge and lasting tan coloured head.
Aroma of hard roasted grains, almost a burnt smell with hints of a citrus sparkle.
This bodes well.
Feel is very full, creamy and chewy.
Taste is much less burnt than the aroma, an almost delicate flavour of burned whole grain toast with a hint of coffee and chocolate but there is a very bright and sparkling lemon citrus taste over the top of it all which makes this a very drinkable beer. The finish is so bright and clean you just want more.
I like this one a lot.

Hitachino Nest White Ale A pale yellow color with a clumpy but short lived head. Spices and banana are all I can detect in the aroma. Full rich creamy mouth feel. This is nice. Lots of spice and banana with some hints of pepper. Easy drinking but also very flavorfull. I wish I had more but alas that is not to be with Japan still in shambles.
