Microbrasserie du Lievre - La Frousse

Pours red, (what a surprise. Not!), with a thick clumpy long lasting head.
Very little aroma. Just a bit of earth and hay. This is surprising for an ale.
Nice and creamy.
For only 5.4% the alcohol is right up front. It actually burns down the throat. Once past that the flavors come through nicely. Some chocolate and berries with just a hint of spice. It is actually quite complex. This is not bad at all. As it warms there is very little of the alcohol hit left. I recommend that this be served not too cold.

Hitachino Nest White Ale A pale yellow color with a clumpy but short lived head. Spices and banana are all I can detect in the aroma. Full rich creamy mouth feel. This is nice. Lots of spice and banana with some hints of pepper. Easy drinking but also very flavorfull. I wish I had more but alas that is not to be with Japan still in shambles.
