Mill St. Barley Wine

A huge, slightly off white head on an aged copper coloured beer.
The aroma is of honey, citrus and fresh bread dough with some grapefruit coming through as it warms. The feel is rich, round, creamy and full, much like some abbey ales.
Taste is a touch sour with quite a bit of citrus. The alcohol taste really comes through.
There is a nice sweet base with a lot of citrus overtones and a light but lasting earthy bitterness sitting in the mouth along with the rich feel.

The alcohol is probably the dominant feature of this beer and I really love it on a cold damp winter evening. Have it with a steaming bowl of stew and watch the blizzard move in.

Hitachino Nest White Ale A pale yellow color with a clumpy but short lived head. Spices and banana are all I can detect in the aroma. Full rich creamy mouth feel. This is nice. Lots of spice and banana with some hints of pepper. Easy drinking but also very flavorfull. I wish I had more but alas that is not to be with Japan still in shambles.

Beer Quote of the day

It is better to think of church in the ale-house than to think of the ale-house in church.
