Muskoka Brewery - Mad Tom IPA

Pours a slightly cloudy amber colour with a full and lasting white head.
Aroma is citrus, lemon, orange and grapefruit aromas are all in there, some pine and a hint of brown sugar.
Feel is very full and creamy.
Taste starts with a large hit of citrus hops, not overpowering but right up front. The citrus flavours are a nice blend by themselves with a lemon, pine and faint orange start flowing into a grapefruit finish.
The malt base is very nice with a light sweetness and touches of biscuit dough.
The malt is solid enough to carry the hops well and gives this beer some solid legs.
The finish is largely the light and dry grapefruit bitterness with some mild brown sugar sweetness for balance and it lingers for a long while.
I really like this beer and what Muskoka Brewery has been doing lately with some of their new and seasonal beers. Hope they keep it up, Ontario's Craft brewers are beginning to experiment a lot more and as a beer drinker I think that's great.
