Nøgne Ø - Imperial Stout
 
Pours an inky black with a huge dark tan coloured head which slowly shrinks but never quite disappears completely.
Aroma of roasted coffee, bitter chocolate and a hint of licorice.
Feel is very thick, chewy and good, just like a heavy stout should be.
Taste starts with a strong coffee and bitter chocolate flavour quickly followed by a light citrus taste with a touch of licorice. Lot's of dark berry flavours come through along with a slight burnt whole grain toast.
The finish is milk chocolate and a touch of lingering citrus to brighten it all up.
Very nice beer and just right for a long winter evening. Enjoy this one, it's a keeper. Putting a couple into the stash.
