Nickel Brook - Premium Organic Lager

Pours a slightly cloudy dark amber with a full rocky white head.
Aroma is fairly mild but full of malt.
Feel is quite rich and creamy.
Taste is great, lots of doughy malt base with honey and syrup tastes, then the hops hit. More than usual bittering from the hops make your mouth water. Some apple citrus tastes and a long lasting palate clearing, sparkling finish.
I really like the blend of tastes in here plus the fact that this lager has enough bitter hops to notice, a fairly rare thing in a lager.
A great summertime beer. Bet it would be good with a grilled pork chop.

Church-Key Holy Smoke Scotch Ale

A thick but short lived light tan coloured head on a black coffee coloured beer.
The aroma is peat smoke and bacon, feel is like a stout, thick and creamy.
Tastes start with a peat fire smokiness built on top of some berry and roasted malt coffee flavours.
The smoke leads the way but does not kill off the other tastes and the whole blends quite nicely.
I have had this with Kippers and Smoked Gouda cheese and it compliments them both.
It also goes very nicely with a simple ham and cheddar sandwich. The smokiness from the beer would compliment many foods, BBQ comes to mind immediately. I also think this would be a great brew to enjoy while sitting in front of a raging fire on a cold winter evening.
