Nickel Brook - Premium Organic Lager

Pours a slightly cloudy dark amber with a full rocky white head.
Aroma is fairly mild but full of malt.
Feel is quite rich and creamy.
Taste is great, lots of doughy malt base with honey and syrup tastes, then the hops hit. More than usual bittering from the hops make your mouth water. Some apple citrus tastes and a long lasting palate clearing, sparkling finish.
I really like the blend of tastes in here plus the fact that this lager has enough bitter hops to notice, a fairly rare thing in a lager.
A great summertime beer. Bet it would be good with a grilled pork chop.

Amsterdam Brewing - Boneshaker IPA

Cloudy copper pour with a thick tan head.
A strong citrus aroma and some evergreen make up the aroma.
Over the top citrus. Like eating a grapefruit without any sugar. It certainly is mouth cleansing and refreshing and it's going down very well on a nice warm May day. There is a hint of sweetness in the background but not enough to cut  the citrus.
It's good but just a little less citrus and I would really love this.

Beer Quote of the day

You know, nobody eats in England. Three or four pints of English beer a night fills you. I can't say I'm very impressed with the food in America. it's all sort of bland. Like turkey sandwiches.

(Yes, beer is food.)
