A huge thick white head which very slowly settles to thick and rocky cap. The colour is very attractive, an amber orange shade and the beer is quite cloudy.

Aroma has lots of cloves and coriander with a pronounced vanilla or banana smell. Makes me want a mouthful right NOW.
The feel is very thick and creamy. You know you have something filling in your mouth with this brew.
Tastes are similar to the aroma but there is a profound dryness to it which the aroma does not lead you to suspect. This beer is full of surprises.
There is a clove and vanilla start which is quickly followed by a mouth drying tannin bitterness which makes me immediately want another mouthful. The finish is largely dry but with a lingering taste of the cloves and banana.
Very pleasant and the taste makes me think it would go really well with steaks or pork chops.
I intend to cook some chops tonight for dinner so I will let you know.

All in all, this beer is just great. Not for pounding but the kind of beer I want with a meal.

FootNote I had an Orval with grilled pork chops seasoned with "Montreal Steak Spice" for supper and it was excellent. It cut through the pork oils and the salt from the spice and turned a simple dinner into a memorable one.

Pours cloudy orange with a clumpy thick white head and lots of natural carbonation. Looks good says I!
Very spicy aroma, mostly coriander and cloves but some all spice is there as well. Very complex. Wow! Warming up and I haven't even had a sip. Some orange citrus is coming through as well. I am enjoying the aroma so much I am having a hard time taking a sip. Not like me. I usually sip first and sniff later. Must be the chalice glass.
The first tastes are banana and tropical fruit, mostly pineapple, with some taste of apple. This is very complex and wonderful. I would give this a six if I could.
I'm glad I have a couple more in the old chill chest.

I've had this a few times now. The touch of bitterness in it seems to go really well with fairly oily meats like Pork. I've had it with both chops and roast and found it to match up nicely. The tannin bitterness is just right with the fats from the pork.

A big clumpy white head and a very cloudy copper coloured beer.
It smell fruity and bitter.
The feel is thick but dry somehow?
Taste is quite fruity and a bit bitter. A kind of strawberry flavour, a bit of vanilla or something. Makes me think of a strawberry milkshake a bit except that it is a very dry finish. Leaves my tongue dry.
