BEER is GOOD!
About Bruce Ticknor
Pump House Fire Chief's Red Ale
Pumphouse Fire Chief's Red Ale
Pours a beautiful garnet red colour with a full and lasting, slightly off-white head.
The aroma is earthy and full of licorice and date smells. Feel is very rich and creamy, nice and full.
The tastes are similar to the aroma, the licorice does not come through but the dates do, along with raisins, earth and a very nice citrus tang. Some toasted grain flavours with a hint of bitter chocolate or coffee.
This is a great blend, heavily toward the malt end but with enough hop citrus and bitter to offset what would otherwise be too sweet.
I could drink this anytime at all and enjoy it every time.

Pumphouse Fire Chief's Red Ale
Good stuff!
It pours a deep rich, red color. A thick off white head that lasts, and when it is finally gone it leaves a strong lace coating on the glass.
Nice earthy aromas with just a hint of citrus and a slice of bread.
Mouth feel is quite rich and creamy. I am enjoying this. I can understand why they were the Brewery of the year in 2005.
Flavor is a hint of citrus with an earthy note as well as a honey like sweetness. Very nicely balanced.
I should have bought the only other six pack that we had to drive for 30 minutes to aquire. Hind sight is over rated!
