Rekorderlig Wild Berries Cider (Perry)

Nice pink color with a quickly dissipating white head.
Aroma is heavily of raspberries. Smells great.
Sparkling mouth feel with little or no creaminess.
Fruit is the main flavor, mostly raspberries some strawberries as well as a slight hint of pear.
I really like this non beer. I could handle it for dessert at anytime.
I had this one with some old cheddar and it's a great compliment.

Wow!

This is very tasty stuff. It's not beer though is it?

Defining "Beer" can be a

Defining "Beer" can be a tricky subject.
Perry is fermented like beer, not distilled, like beer, and not made from grapes.
It is not made from grain, which is a downside.
At beer tastings and competitions cider, perry, and meads are usually in their own category.
Does this make them "Beer"?
I don't know. I am not in any position to decide.
The wine and liquor people don't want them and we Beer People are big hearted. We'll take the orphans under out wing.

Dessert?

You are right, this is a great dessert drink.
With pie and old cheddar it is great, better than any wine I can think of.

Virtually no head on a distinctly pink coloured sparkling pear cider (perry).
The aroma is strongly of raspberries and quite pleasant. I want to take a big mouthful just from the smell.

Feel is quite full and rich with a nice carbonated sparkle.
Tastes are strongly of raspberry and pear, A full rich flavour profile all in the berry end of things. No hops but a really nice sparkle to it and the berries provide more than enough lightness and citrus taste.
The pear base goes much better with the berries than an apple base would and there is just enough sweetness in there to take the citrus edge off.
I really like this drink. With a nice hearty cheese to go with it it would make a perfect aperitif.

I am going to offer some of this to my non beer drinking relatives on their next visit. Served in a classy chalice or a large wine glass I think they would really enjoy it.
On my buy again for desert list.
