Samuel Smith's Organic Raspberry Ale

This is REALLY GOOD!!
I have tried many fruit flavoured beer, the Lambics have always been my favourites by far. This beer gives them a real run for their money.

It pours a cloudy muddy red on amber somehow. The colour is hard to describe and I have done the best I can. The head is large, long lasting, pink and leaving a lot of lace.
The raspberry flavour is predominant but there are other notes in there as well, some sour malt and citrus with a touch of earth.
The feel is quite full and creamy.
Tastes are so complex it is hard for me to describe. The raspberry is up front but there are so many subtle flavours and tastes in there that it is hard to pick them all out.
I get grass and old hay, some earth and various fruits. a green apple tang and even some earthiness.
The finish is a satisfying dry which just makes me want a whole lot more.

This is May 24 weekend, unofficially dedicated to beer so I think I will go crack another one of these, it's a warm and slightly humid day here and this is going down really well. Thanks to the LCBO for getting it on the shelves in time.

Samuel Smith's Organic Raspberry Ale

Nice clumpy pinkish head on a red brew with lots of lace.
Aroma is all fruit. Raspberries and just a hint of citrus.
Very full rich and creamy mouth feel.
This has flavor on top of flavor. Rasberry is up front with a citrus follow up and a sweetness at the end that makes me want to pour it over ice cream.
It does however stand on it's own as a very good flavored brew.
One is enough as a desert beer.

Beer Quote of the day

It is my design to die in the brew-house; let ale be placed to my mouth when I am expiring, that when the choirs of angels come, they may say, "Be God propitious to this drinker."
