A very dark red/amber colour with a thick, long lasting, off white head.
The aroma has a hint of sourness with a lot of citrus, flower, berry, and grass.
Taste is where this beer shines. A hint of honey which increases as the beer warms a bit, and a very well hopped beer with lots of flavours of citrus, berry, flowers, and some faint biscuit tastes.
A lovely bitter hoppiness which brings this close to a traditional English IPA with a slightly higher hop taste. The bitterness is quite herbal tasting. Like the bitter tang you get from a grapefruit.
On a warm humid summer day this was ideal, and the grilled steak I had it with made a great combination.
I will buy this one again as often as I can find it, unfortunately it is not often available locally so we went to Ottawa to get it.
