BEER is GOOD!
About Bruce Ticknor
Smithwicks Irish Ale
Smithwicks Irish Ale
A fairly thick, slightly off-white head on a very attractive chestnut coloured beer.
The aroma is fairly malty, lots of honey, biscuit and a bit of corn syrup.
Feel is moderately creamy with a bunch of carbonation.
Taste is also quite malty with enough hops to keep it interesting. There is some honey and corn with a nice solid biscuit base. The floral and light citrus hops are almost enough to offset the sweetness of the malt.
It certainly beats the fizzy yellow water stuff the North America mainstreams make, but is not up to the best ales the U.K. puts out by a long shot.
