BEER is GOOD!
About Bruce Ticknor
Southern Tier - Imperial Choklat Stout
Southern Tier - Imperial Choklat Stout
Pours a rich and creamy looking black with a dark tan head, fairly full but short lasting, a bit rocky and not much in the way of lacing.
First hint of aroma was alcohol which quickly disappeared and was replaced by chocolate.
Feel is very rich, full, and creamy.
Taste is not all chocolate, although there is a lot of that as well. There are some dark roasted grain tastes, blackberry, bread dough, a light lemon citrus note and lots of chocolate floating over top of everything. The alcohol presence is more a feel than a taste and the chocolate finish is mixed with a lingering clean citrus taste.
This goes down very well and calls out for another sip. Not cloying and overly sweet, and with a real beer like base.
I like this one a lot.
