St Ambroise Pale Ale

St Ambroise, who the Street, and beer are named after was a Jesuit Brother named Ambroise, who began making beer in old Quebec City in 1646.
Here's to Brother Ambroise!!

A deep copper colour with a thick white head which doesn't last too long but leaves a light lace.
The aroma is of citrus and flowers with a bit of biscuit or yeast.
It has a full creamy taste full of biscuit and citrus and a nice crisp citrus finish.
It's taste is very bright and refreshing with enough bitterness to just hint at drying out your mouth.
There might be a hint of apricot in there somewhere, it is hard to pick out in the total blend.
The biscuity aroma gets more pronounced as the beer warms, and the citrus sparkle taste also comes more to the front.
This beer is probably very close to a traditional pale ale, a little more on the American pale ale side than the English.
This one is on my "Buy Again - Often" list.
I like it a lot

Beer Quote of the day

Life isn't all beer and skittles, but beer and skittles, or something
better of the same sort, must form a good part of every Englishman's
education.

— Thomas Hughes

(Englishman? Quit hogging. Beer is universal. Who cares about skittles anyway?)
