St. Bernardus Abt 12

Pours a very cloudy, dark copper/red colour with a huge, rocky, off-white head. Lots of lace left in the glass.
A very fruity aroma, apple, pear, and dark berries with a hint of alcohol.

Feel is very rich, creamy and almost chewy.
Taste is dark berry, some cherry, light chocolate, coffee and a nice apple citrus. The flavour is very full and quite complex. The hints of blackberry, cherry and raspberry blend so well with the chocolate and vanilla flavours it is very hard to distinguish them individually.
The finish is very mild, slightly sweet and creamy with just a hint of apple citrus to clean the mouth. It lasts a long time and I find it very smooth and relaxing. There is almost no noticeable alcohol taste which is very surprising in a 10% ABV beer.
A truly superb beer and one which I intend to stock up on while they last.
